Electric Evolution: More Efficient Power Electronics
BMW is expanding the use of a modern inverter with silicon carbide components across its electric lineup. This technology enhances energy efficiency, directly resulting in a longer driving range.
Models Receiving the 40 km Range Boost
The following models will gain an additional 40 kilometers of WLTP range on a single charge, with the maximum range for these vehicles reaching up to 514 km:
- BMW iX1 eDrive20
- BMW iX2 eDrive20
- BMW iX2 xDrive30
Additionally, the new BMW iX3 will see its AC charging power increased to 22 kW.
Performance Meets Regulation: M5 and XM Updates
Starting in April of this year, BMW will begin adapting the M5 and XM Label to meet upcoming Euro 7 emissions standards set to take effect in 2027.

To comply with new regulations, the twin-turbo V8 engines in these hybrids will be updated with the Miller cycle and new exhaust gas cleaning systems. Crucially, BMW promises that through optimized software for the electric drive components, the total system horsepower of both models will remain unchanged, preserving their dynamic performance.
